About Me
“Dr. Rajan Sharma” is an Associate Professor and Deputy Director at the Institute of Management Studies, Kurukshetra University. With a PhD in Management focused on the “Marketing Practices of Selected Car Manufacturers” (2012), he has extensive experience in both academia and the corporate world. His academic career at Kurukshetra University’s Institute of Management Studies began in 2004, where he has taught MBA students for two decades. He has also taught management subjects to students in the Master’s in Pharmacy program and provided instruction for the Post Graduate Diploma in Export Marketing Management (PGDEMM) through the Directorate of Distance Education.
His teaching specialties include:-
Marketing Management, Services Marketing, Advertising and Integrated Marketing Communication, Rural Marketing, and the Marketing Practices of the Indian Automobile Sector.
Before his career in education, Dr. Sharma held various non-teaching roles. From 2002 to 2004, he served as the General Manager at Varun Autos, a GM dealership. Before that, he was a Branch-In-Charge for Ashok Leyland Finance Ltd. from 1994 to 2002, where he was responsible for marketing finance, collection monitoring, and administrative duties. He also worked as an Area Manager at JVG Departmental Stores Ltd. and a Sales Executive at Sterling Tree Magnum Ltd.
Dr. Sharma is a prolific researcher with numerous published articles and papers in books and research journals. His work covers a wide range of topics, including marketing, corporate social responsibility, and the application of ancient Indian wisdom, such as the Bhagwad Gita, to contemporary management. He has also presented his research at various international and national seminars and conferences.
In addition to his academic and research contributions, Dr. Sharma has served as a resource person and chairperson at numerous seminars and workshops. He is a life member of The Society of Management Education and the Indian Journal of Commerce and serves as an Associate Editor for the TSME Journal of Management.
His personal interests include automobile marketing, exploring the Bhagwad Gita, ancient Indian scriptures, and spirituality as they relate to modern management, as well as pouring art and painting.
